Job Description
1. The role provides analytical ability and creativity in developing and implementing IT system management solution deliverables for medium and large size projects.
- Act as technical leader to lead IT system management project solution architecture design & product implementation
- Responsible for keeping tools used to manage the infrastructure of company's customers in optimal condition to make sure the services provided by that infrastructure are available without disruption.
- Provides customer support to the various Tivoli management environments. Besides that an adviser and consulting role must be fulfilled towards the (internal) customer organization(s) in monitoring solution.
- Assist in mentoring and training of new members to further advance team capabilities about infrastructure system management.
2. The role will not only work individually but also take part in team-activities. Therefore cooperation and team player skills are important aspects towards the team.
- Provides technical advice to project managers and team leaders, as well as giving technical direction to team members including subcontractors and client personnel.
- Assists in the project for balancing of technical work assignments with team members' technical skills to mitigate risk on the project/engagement/proposal.
- Provides technical guidance to newer or less experienced team personnel. Assists and, on occasion, is responsible for identifying new billable I/T services opportunities and provides the technical knowledge in the sale of monitoring solutions.
- Assists in selling service products where appropriate. This can involve participating and providing specialty leadership in the development, packaging and distribution of a solution, or the justification, requirements or proof-of-concept in a proposal project.
3. The role requires knowledge across several platforms, processes or architectures. Especially know-how about large enterprise end to end IT infrastructure.
Required Skills
- Experience with IT Infrastructure system management & monitoring Solutions.
- Has knowledge of event management.
- Familiar with business service impact analysis and service modeling
- Deep knowledge & hands on skill in RDBMS like Oracle, DB2, Sybase
- Have knowledge about System product, such as Server, Storage, routers, switches, virtualization technology, AIX, HP-UX, and Linux etc.
- Have knowledge about system high-availability infrastructure
- Tivoli Skills In-depth knowledge and experience supporting Tivoli system management tools including: ITM,ITCAM, Netcool, TBSM.
- Other related system management product skills like HP OpenView, CA Unicenter or BMC Patrol will be a plus
- Shell/Perl Scripting & developing Skills
- Skills in web application development, knowing about Dojo, Ajax technology is preferred
- Knowledge of ITIL or ITSM is preferred.
- Good communication skill with business sensitivity.
- Ability to acquire skills & keep them updated
- Creativity and Judgment applied to professional, technical or operational problems
- Independently generates solutions based on analytical, technical skills and business knowledge
- Skills in team Building, mentoring and problem solving
Required
- Bachelor Degree or above
- 7+ years working experience.
- At least 1-2 year experience in network management or system management.
