Job description
Assist China Tax management in managing the day to day direct tax operations for all the company's China entities. Specifically, the ChinaDirect Tax Manager will be:
-- Responsible for designing, implementing and improving the processes/procedures of direct tax by working with related functions including AP/HQ Tax, Accounting, and other supporting functions.
-- Assist China Tax management in managing the effective tax rate.
--Monitor and control direct tax provisions and direct tax compliance for all the company's entities in China.
--Monitor and control the FAS 109, FIN 48 and ETR processes.
--Lead in tracking China direct tax legislation changes and update accounting and other supporting functions on applicable Direct Tax regulatory changes that may impact internal processes and systems.
--Provide practical advice to the business, supporting functions and AP/Corporate on financial and tax operational issues, which include but are not limited to local sales, cross border transactions, M&A and divestitures, individual income tax issues.
--Lead in managing direct tax assessments and tax audits by interfacing with external tax authorities, government agencies, as well as the company's internal functions.
--Assist China Tax management in ensuring China is Direct Tax SOX compliant.
--Work with AP/CHQ Direct Tax verticals on AP/CHQ initiatives and reporting requirements.
--Lead in working with AP/CHQ Intercompany team for TP related matters for all the company's China entities.
Requires Skills
--A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in tax environment (both Indirect and Direct Tax but more direct tax experience is a plus) including substantial experience with a Big Four Firm or reputable MNC; experience in both Big Four and MNC would be a plus.
--Thorough knowledge and experience in China tax law and practices;
--Thorough knowledge of FAS109 and new China GAAP.
--Accounting/Taxation Degree, or CPA certificate or equivalent (CPA is a plus).
--Thorough knowledge of business controls in a MNC tax environment;
--Able to translate technical decisions /strategies into business terms and implications.
--Must be able to prioritize, multi-task, and take ownership of projects.
--Ability to drive to achieve desired outcomes.
--Strong written and verbal English & Chinese communication skills.
